Letter From The Editor:Kanye West Edition

Here is a still pic from Kanye’s video for his first single “Power” off the upcoming Good Ass Job TBA album

Here is what the people over at the New York Time’s had to say after they watched the finished project.

“…created by the artist Marco Brambilla, Mr. West is seen standing imposingly with a heavy chain around his neck. As Mr. West raps the camera slowly zooms out in one continuous, unedited take to reveal him in a classical structure, surrounded by female attendants who are partly or entirely nude; some kneel before him on all fours, others wear devil horns and still others are suspended upside down from the ceiling. The Sword of Damocles hangs precariously over Mr. West’s head, and behind him an unseen executioner is preparing to strike him with a blade. ” -NY Times’

After reading there comments I really wanna see the video …. I use to defend Kanye when people would say he was apart of the Illuminati and what not, but now I wonder does he not set himself up by creating these type of videos and saying and doing the things that he does. I mean we all know he is a severe narcissist and that has been shown throughout his career in his music, interviews, and public relationships. At some point he has to look at himself and say man ….am I making the proper statement. For instance at the BET Awards 2010 we all saw him standing on top of the mountain performing this very song (If you haven’t seen the video I’ll post it at the end) as if he were God or Jesus. I guess what they say about “no press is bad press” holds true in his mind. I which we could just get back to Kanye rapping without the controversy and drama……but if he didn’t come with all that baggage would we really like him as much as we do? I mean he is def. one of those people where you either love him or you hate him there is no in between…..Luckily the majority of people still are in the LOVE category (even though after the Taylor Swift thing I saw things really going soft for the Chi Town artist)

Side Note: Regardless of all of Kanye’s antics you can’t deny that he is a great artist and is one of the best showman in the game.
